Email
sessions can be used for a wide range of issues. Detailed discussions
can be conducted with excellent opportunities to explain issues in detail
without any pressure due to time. The sessions can be conducted
without me know the users real identity. Many people find they can be more open and discuss sensitive
issues quicker through email discussions. For many situations, I
find that they work better.
Email sessions can be used to
lay the ground work and share detail information before a telephone
session. This combination of discussion is excellent for more
complex situations. An email session followed by a telephone
session has proved to be very effective for you and me.
Telephone
sessions can be very effective for situations that may be personally
sensitive or that have a lot of emotional content. Some people
feel better talking to a "real" person on the telephone. These
sessions can be held on land line, cell phone or through voice on
Skype. To use Skype you must download it by clicking on the
"Get Skype Button" below.
Video
sessions are similar to a face-to-face session. They work well for
people that prefer to learn through visual means. They promote a
closer working relationship and require the highest level of disclosure.
You will need to have Skype on your computer. I use Skype
because all communications are encrypted for your privacy and
confidentiality.

The effectiveness of
email, chat, telephone, and video conference therapy has not been determined
scientifically. There has been some excellent results documented for those
in individual and group online helping discussions. The preferred method for
therapy is face-to-face therapy. My online services are offered as an means of
providing education, instruction, referrals, and helping discussion services to
individuals who can't or prefer not to attend face-to-face therapy sessions.
These sessions should not be used by individuals suffering from chronic mental
illness, individuals that are suicidal or to replace your present therapist and
will not be offered if you are seeing a therapist.
